Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother
MISSION STATEMENT
The Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother respond to God's call to proclaim the Gospel message through a common vision of faith shared communally.
Values, expressed in the Faith Center, are rooted in the Franciscan and Carmelite heritage of action and contemplation. Essential to mission is quality presence -
Discerning
Loving
Responsible
Enabling
Prophetic.
Collaborating with others who strive to further the reign of God enables mission. The ministries of teaching and healing are communally discerned.
These ministries are focused on the dignity and justice of those who suffer because of poorness, powerlessness, or deprivation and directed to the utilization of human and material resources for the economically disadvantaged.
The Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother freely choose to stand with the poor and those who struggle for fullness of life through simplicity, detachment, and union with Mary the Compassionate Mother.
